I had to repair the companionway hatch that had wood rot. At the same time I rebuilt the heavy sold teak washboards into two opening doors which was much better than lifting washboards in and out all the time. This is a woodworking project but doesn't need the skill of a master carpenter, and with this articles detailed instructions it can be done by anyone.
