The design of the owner's aft cabin layout was ridiculous. Lazarette deck hatches considerably reduced the bed headroom and a washbasin restricted access to the port side of the bed. The space was simply not used to the best advantage.

This article explains how the area was completely stripped down to the floor and the hatches and washbasin removed. Then the bedroom was rebuilt into a much nicer and more spacious layout, and with no loss of cupboard or locker storage. This project will give you ‘food for thought’ about how you might improve any of your own cabin layouts.
