The new "office" is vastly superior to the originial chart table . There is more room and storage space and the elctrical distribution board is easer to use and read.


If your chart table takes up a lot of room, as mine did - 46% of the port side of the saloon, and was difficult to get in and out of the seat you should read this article and maybe you can do something about it. I removed the whole thing and replaced it with a beautiful secretary’s bureau desk that when opened was the same size as the old table.

It was a major project that took a month to complete because I had to also modify the electrical distribution panel, but the result was well worth the effort and might give you some ideas on how you could improve the space that a chart table usually takes up.
