Dinghy on davitsHRBritannia’s dingy is a 8’6” Mercury inflatable RIB that hangs on very strong aluminum davits off the stern.

It has a seat with storage spaces for an anchor with chain and rope. A powerful battery powered electric pump is also stored there in case the dinghy needs inflating while away from the boat. Two oars fit in locking rowlocks. The dinghy is hoisted and lowered using an electric hoist on the stern and operated by one person. There is a drainage lock in the stern which allow any rain water to drain out and can be shut when in the water.

Zipped coverHRA 6hp four stroke outboard stows on a special pad on the stern side rail and can be lowered by the crane to the dingy below using a purpose made strop on the dinghy. The electric hoist will easily lift the dingh with the outboard attached, so it can be lifted at night at anchor to prevent theaft,

The dinghy cover has zips which make it easy to fit the cover in the water, then hoist it on the davits and stow things like fenders and mooring ropes.

Access to and from the dinghy in the water can be from the telescopic ladder mounted on the stern, or from the teak boarding ladder that fits on either side of the boat at the entry gates.

The whole dinghy/outboard system is designed for ease of use by one person.
